The Youtube Slap (AKA Google SLAP)

Ok so you live and learn… Today wasn’t great as I woke up to find my youtube account had been warned and then
further suspended due to copyright infriginment.

Even though tons of people were posting trailers and screenshots of recent episodes, I happened to be the one caught
out.

Lesson? Don’t use any of the original content of other episodes.

Following my ban I had to rethink how I could fix this, or in other words how else could I promote my video site
on youtube and other places without getting banned, and then it came to me…

Rather than use the content from episode releases, I could provide self reviews of recent episodes using nothing
but my voice and a written transcript for people who did not want audio.

That way I could still use the description box to link people to episodes, and keep youtube happy that I’m providing
value without breaking copyright rules.

During this brainstorm I also came up with the idea of sharing the episodes via torrents, and passwording the videos
with a rar file sending them to my page, where they fill out a survey (in which I get paid) and they get access
to the password.

I’ll let you guys know how it goes.

Tip: If you’re going to use youtube do not use copyrighted content even if others are doing it, but rather brainstorm
an idea in which you could promote and provide without being penalized i.e reviews etc….
